The first Pigtails Challenge race be held May 24-27 around the Lake Youngs Watershed. Our protagonist is signed up for the 150-miler, but the lure of double pigs is tempting, so maybe I’ll drop to 100 (or jump up to 200?)
Since the rest of this year will be spent running very slowly with beat-up legs, I figured that one flat loopy race would help keep my spirits up. Plus my lovely wife and a couple of friends want to go to Texas. Plus, the buckle is really cool!
First things first. There’s no substitute for the real thing. The real The Grand Slam of Ultrarunning comprises four of the oldest 100-mile footraces in the United States. It’s considered one of the hardest feats in ultramarathoning. This ain’t that.
